Well, it's been a hot minute...

...but we hope you're all well! Hopefully, you're in the minority and still have some credit left after the state and federal governments splash cash on electricity bills.

Unfortunately, we've had more recent power bill price rises. This time, to try and save us a little from the spiraling energy costs and save their skin with an upcoming election, we had some $1000 and $300 rebates for bills. Now, this would be all well and good if prices did not just skyrocket again, but it seems like a little more than a goodwill gesture, trying to ease a little pain and anger about our unacceptable energy costs.

The sad part is that unless we have regular price rises for at least the distant future, we will not be able to fill the black hole left by the maintenance costs of our extremely aged infrastructure. Now, household solar is obviously the way around this. However, many people in Australia don't live in houses or have suitable roofs. This means those who can't use solar for whatever reason will continue to be left further and further behind. And, keeping in mind for many, that's renters and those most in need, it's not a good outlook for us all.

So, in summary, we hope you've all had a great few weeks and still have some credit left to shield you from the recent price rises. If finances are hard and solar is an upfront expense you can't deal with right now, try a bill swap with a good payment plan. It will certainly put you a long way in front very quickly.

Stay sunny, everyone!
